Your responsibilities will include:
Discipline Excellence & Standards
- Define and maintain standards, methods, and best practices for data engineering, visualization, and data-driven applications.
- Ensure consistent application of architectural guidelines, code quality standards, and visualization principles across products and projects.
Capabilities and Staffing
- Own capability planning for the Data Engineering & Visualization chapter, ensuring the right skills are available for project needs.
- Define hiring profiles, support recruitment, and identify capability gaps, staffing risks, and succession needs.
Professional Growth & Career Development
- Coach and mentor chapter members, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Define role expectations and recommend relevant learning opportunities, trainings, and career development measures.
Collaboration & Delivery Support
- Partner with product teams and stakeholders to deliver scalable data and visualization solutions.
- Support teams in translating complex data and analytics results into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and applications.
Knowledge Sharing & Community Building
- Drive knowledge sharing across the chapter through chapter calls, best-practice sessions, technical exchanges, and reusable standards.
- Promote collaboration, reuse of proven solutions, and continuous improvement across teams.
Skill-Based Performance & Talent Input
- Collect structured, skill-based feedback in collaboration with project leads and People Leads.
- Provide technical and development-related input for performance and talent discussions, without owning HR processes.
What we expect from you:
- Fluent English, German is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 10 years of experience working in and leading data engineering, visualization, analytics, frontend, and/or full stack development projects, ideally in Data Science / Analytics environments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, coaching, and technical leadership skills.
- Deep expertise in data engineering and visualization concepts, with strong practical experience in Python, SQL, data pipelines, APIs, and modern frontend technologies such as React and Next.js.
- Proven ability to define technical standards, drive best practices, and ensure consistent implementation across multiple products, projects, and teams.
- Experience in mentoring developers, data engineers, or visualization experts and supporting professional growth through coaching and targeted learning.
- Solid experience with RESTful APIs, microservice architecture, CI/CD, Docker, and preferably Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, analytics tools, dashboarding, and visualization frameworks is highly desirable.
